This was my 4th cruise with Royal Caribbean and my 5th overall. I had been following the development of this ship since the original order was placed and booked as soon as the early AAA booking opened up during the online convention. Who would have though you could book a cruise like this through an online chat.
Condition:
It was only the 6th sailing so she still had that new ship look and feel to her. Not much of a new ship smell though, with the amount of preinaugurals that Royal Caribbean does I doubt the inaurugal even had a new ship smell anymore, lol.
Layout:
The 'H' system that Royal Caribbean introduced in the Voyager class of ships made moving around the ship so simple. If your moving vertically use the closest atrium (one at the bow and one at the stern) and if your moving horizontally you can use the Royal Promenade. On the Oasis of the Seas the system has been expanded so you can use Central Park instead of the Promenade and it seems like for the first time every deck connects from front to back and left to right. Incredible layout as expected from Royal Caribbean.
Crowd:
6,000 passengers on one ship, who would have known. Their are so many different things going on and Royal Caribbean seems to have the movement of passengers down to a science. Never saw crowds like on past cruises. Only time it got crowded was at the one time events like the Captain's Welcome Reception when everyone was in one place at the same time. I have to take half a star off though because when it rains at night Bolero's can overflow into the Promenade and cause issues.
Entertainment:
Best lineup of shows I've seen at sea. Hairspray was surprisingly good, didn't expect too care for that one but I actually enjoyed it. The Aqua Theater show was a great addition as well. The only show that seemed lacking was the ice show which was good, but not the best I have seen at sea.
Dining:
Included:
Typical Royal Caribbean style Windjammer and Main Dinning Room. The Cafe Promenade was incredible though and the addition of custom sandwhiches their and custom pizza at Sorrento's was a nice touch. I only ate at the Windjammer twice because their were so many other great free options.
Amenities:
Flow riders, zip line, miniature golf, a park, need I say more?
Crew:
A very nice crew onboard. For how many their were I was surprised how often I still ran into the same couple of crew members all over the place. My cabin attendant was without a doubt the best I've ever had. The room was always made up each night and cleaned each morning yet we never saw him the entire week. He must of had our schedule or something because it was always ready when we wanted it. None of those awkward moments where you get back from dinner and need to use the cabin but he's still in their cleaning and you don't want to distrub him.
Value:
The Oasis of the Seas is one of the priciest ships their is but I booked so early that the price was not that unusual yet. For what's included and the incredible once in a lifetime experience it was actually a bargain compared to other cruises.
Favorite cruise yet. Wish Royal Caribbean would get a better route, the current one has been overused. Even with the same route though I would love to try her sister Allure! You can check out interactive Oasis of the Seas Experience video using the guide below.
